The Company LEA-CO markets the LEA® process for making asphalt mixtures whose manufacture uses half as much energy and emits half as much greenhouse gas
It is a "half-warm "asphalt, i.e manufactured below 100 ° which immediately reaches the same mechanical performance than traditional hot mix, no period of ripening.
Significant consequences
- Improved safety for personnel and local residents: absence or limitation of noxious emissions
- Extended business catchment zone of manufacturing plants: LEA® asphalt is transported farther without damage. Its laydown temperature can be around 80°C
- Where recycled asphalt aggregate is used, bitumen properties are conserved owing to low-temperature mixing
